HILLCREST PARK ZOO

The Hillcrest Park Zoo has been providing family fun in Clovis since the 1930s. As the second largest zoo in
New Mexico, Hillcrest Zoo features more than 150 animals (63 different species), including giraffes, zebras, monkeys, hyenas and even a magnificent Bengal tiger. 

Visitors can help feed waterfowl and watch rare and endangered animals as they follow about 27 acres of
winding, tree-shaded paths. Some of the zoo’s most
popular attractions are the animals native to American
Southwest, like the playful black bear cubs, bobcats,
bison and javelinas.

Hillcrest Park Zoo plays an important role in the system of rehabilitation and preservation of wildlife since many of the animals living at the zoo were injured, orphaned or rescued from maltreatment. For those who are passionate or curious about wildlife, zoology or want to support their favorite animal, the Adopt-a-Zoo-Animal program allows visitors to donate money to support exhibit improvements and enrichment items for the animals.

If your little ones aren’t worn out from all the walking around the zoo, let them loose at Hillcrest Park. Adjacent to the zoo, the 140 acre area has playground equipment, basketball courts, a sunken garden, a splash park, plenty of picnic areas, a dog park and more.
